Ron's perfect night: a racecar, a beer and a 16 year old girl.
Actually this young lady is Sportsman driver Whitney Poole, who's car is much faster than Ron's.
Fame is fleeting......Infamy endures always
"This car is too ugly"
It was BANNED
from Melbourne Speedway.
Thats right, Ron was banned from the track for his ugly car.  And he was a regular winner at the time!  Click HERE to see the newspaper article.
Like a moth to a flame.  Yes, Ron was relentlessly drawn to the promise of a cold beer on this night in 2007.  The old carrot and stick approach has always worked on simple animals like draft mules and racecar drivers.  He drove from the rear of the field and won, although he suspected that the beer can may have thrown off his aero numbers.
A typical scene in the McCreary pits.
This was a Bomber class win at Orlando, and it was done in a street legal car that Ron drove to the track from Melbourne.  The problem came when he wanted to drive the same car in the "Run What Ya Brung" race for street cars because it paid more money.  The track officials resisted, so Ron uncovered the front and rear lights, produced the registration, and the track had to give in.  Yep, Ron took the money in that race too.
Ron brought his own trophy girl tonight!  He has always liked blondes, and this one does not complain if he works in the garage every night.  She is perfect!
He has just finished dressing her in a fireproof bikini, complete with Nomex tassles, and is helping to get the safety belts fastened.

After running a few Powder-Puff derbys, she soon became a much better driver than Ron, and began to pass him set-up information and driving tips.
