Ron claims his first race was in a chariot  against Ben Hur, but here is a picture of his first real car. 

Does it look familiar?  Ron was a Bobby Brack fan, so he painted his first car like one of Bobby's shown below.

This was at Vero Beach Speedway.

In action at Vero, Ron works the outside of Bob Sweet (21) and Ray Snodgrass (22).

Before long, Ron's '57 looked like this.  By the way, this was the NEW body.  He got tired of doing body work, and was eventually banned from the track for having such an ugly car!

The car got some new skin for its third season.
